Right above the Latest Dish restaurant, this cool little space heats up when it reaches capacity. It's usually populated with a young crowd resembling the DJ who's spinning, with an occasional dressed-up, stray group from South Street. The unmarked door in the alley just off of Fourth Street opens to a tubelike stairwell. There's one bar, a small balcony overlooking the small dance floor and a cozy third-floor lounge next to unisex restrooms with curtains for doors.

The building is a cavernous old bank with three floors, six bars and three dance floors. Transit lets the party live on past the normal 2am closing time. The club offers a breadth of specialty nights, ranging from all-nighters with deep house to black lipstick nights where goth rules to the three-floor Making Time neosoul/Britpop/indie extravaganzas. But be forewarned: The bar may be closed on the weekends if nothing's happenin'.

From the ground level entrance, a dark staircase leads to a black-lit and electric blue-accented dance club on top of The Nile restaurant. Venus has a more modest feel than most of its neighbors, and it's not until late at night that the narrow room fills up with Old City partygoers dangling cocktails from manicured hands.
